And down in the valley, big, easy landing fields are waiting.
The two sections of the Jakobshorn cable car lift us around 1,000 metres above Davos, with zero effort on your part. That's plenty of height for a long flight with sweeping views towards the main Alpine ridge. On good days, the updrafts even carry us higher than the launch site itself.
On the Jakobshorn, your pilot picks the launch site to match the day's wind and weather, at the summit, by the Jatzhütte or on the Brämabüel. For you, that means the best possible take-off conditions instead of a cancelled flight.
In summer, we land on the big meadow in front of the Bolgen Plaza restaurant. In winter, we land behind the base station of the Carjöl chairlift; look for the yellow Air-Davos sign at the landing field.
You won't be flying with an anonymous booking platform. We're a team of 8 pilots with over 18,000 flights in this region between us, some flying here since 1991, and your pilot looks after you personally from the meeting point to the landing.
Davos is our home base. We live here and know this valley like the back of our hand, and that local knowledge is what makes your flight day feel relaxed from start to finish.
What to Wear for Your Paragliding Tandem Flight in Summer
In summer, comfortable outdoor or hiking clothing is all you need: long trousers, a windproof jacket or fleece, sunglasses and sturdy shoes, ideally hiking boots. One thing really matters up here: because of the altitude, the sun and UV radiation in Davos are particularly intense, so use good sun protection (sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher).
And in summer too: if you're missing any clothing or shoes, you can borrow them from us free of charge.
Cable Car, Meeting Point and Luggage in Summer
Please bring your cable car pass, Topcard or Davos Klosters guest card if you have one: the guest card gives you a discount on the ride up, and with the Premium Card, local public transport is even free of charge.
Backpacks are hard to stow in our luggage compartment during the flight, so please come without one or leave it in the valley.
And because flying depends on the weather: please give us your correct mobile number including the country code, so we can reach you at short notice if anything shifts on your flight day.

What to Wear in Winter
Simply dress as you would for a day on the slopes: warm outdoor or ski clothing with a windproof jacket, fleece and gloves, plus sunglasses or ski goggles and sturdy shoes. Hiking boots, winter boots or snowboard boots all work perfectly.
Missing something? No problem: you can borrow clothing and shoes from us free of charge, just let us know in advance.

How safe is a tandem paragliding flight in Davos?
Nervous before your first flight? Almost everyone is, and it usually melts away seconds after take-off. Tandem paragliding is very safe when flown by experienced pilots who know their flying area inside out: our 8 pilots, certified by FOCA (the Swiss civil aviation authority), have logged over 18,000 flights in this region between them, some since 1991. And the current weather is part of every flight decision we make.
The equipment meets strict safety standards, too: manufacturers must have their gliders certified, and we fly exclusively current equipment from well-known manufacturers.
Worth knowing: in Switzerland, paragliding is not classed as a high-risk sport.
What happens to my booking if there is bad weather on the day of the flight?
Flying depends on the weather, and we're upfront about it: we check the forecast before your flight and get in touch with you. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we look for a new date together, and if no date works for you, you simply cancel. Rescheduling and cancellation cost you nothing.
Is there a weight limit for paragliding?
Yes, but it's more generous than most people expect. Our gliders are certified for a specific minimum and maximum total weight (pilot plus passenger plus complete equipment). By pairing a light pilot with a heavier passenger or the other way round, and by choosing the right glider, we have plenty of leeway. There's practically no lower limit: very light passengers and children fly with us without any problem. If you weigh more than 115 kg, please get in touch beforehand so we can plan your flight accordingly.
What clothing is ideal for a tandem flight?
In summer: comfortable outdoor clothing with long trousers, a jacket or fleece, sunglasses to shield your eyes from the airstream, and sturdy shoes. We provide a flight helmet, or you can wear your own ski or snowboard helmet.
In winter, normal ski clothing is ideal. Taking off in ski boots or snowboard boots is no problem at all.
Missing something? We'll bring any clothing you need to the flight, free of charge.
Please come without a backpack: we can't stow it well during the flight.
Can I securely store luggage?
Yes, free of charge: you can leave your luggage safely at our shop for the duration of your flight experience. The shop is right by the Davos Platz railway station, the cable car and the landing field, with excellent public transport connections.
Can I borrow clothes and shoes?
Yes, at no extra cost. Just let us know in advance and we'll bring everything to the flight. We keep a wide range of suitable flying clothing, from jackets to shoes.
Can I take photos myself?
Absolutely! You'll receive high-quality photos and your edited flight video with music as a gift after your flight anyway, delivered the same evening via Dropbox link, but you're very welcome to shoot with your own camera as well. If you're bringing a large camera (DSLR or a big mirrorless), tell us in advance: we'll bring a front-mounted pouch so your gear is well protected during take-off and landing and doesn't swing around during the take-off run.
How do I get back to the meeting point?
On foot, and it's an easy walk: our landing fields in Davos and Klosters are close to the meeting point. We usually stroll back from the landing field together, which is the perfect moment to relive your flight.
How fit do I need to be for paragliding?
Average fitness is all it takes: your only job is a few steps at take-off, and your pilot handles everything else. If walking is difficult for you, taking off is still possible when wind and launch conditions are perfect. If you're unsure whether it will work for you, please contact us in advance: we'll talk everything through and plan your flight accordingly.
What weather is best suited for paragliding?
Ideal conditions are light to moderate winds or no wind at all (around 0-25 km/h), clear visibility and stable air. We happily use thermal and dynamic updrafts to climb higher. In poor visibility, precipitation, strong wind or with thunderstorms approaching, we stay on the ground. And in foehn conditions we stay cautious even on an otherwise fine day, because the wind can turn unpredictable.
The good news: you don't have to judge any of this yourself. We check the forecasts several times a day, and because we live in Davos, we know the local weather patterns from years of experience.
Are there age restrictions for paragliding?
No, there is no age limit for flying tandem. Passengers under 18 need their parents' consent. Our pilots have flown with their own children before their second birthday; for guest flights, we recommend a minimum age of 5 to 6.
How long does a tandem paragliding flight in Davos last?
Pure flight time is typically 15 to 35 minutes, depending on weather and thermals. In good thermal conditions, we often fly considerably longer. For the whole experience, including the cable car ride, briefing, take-off and landing, plan 1.5 to 2 hours.

Do I need a cable car ticket for the paragliding flight?
Yes, and we'd rather tell you now than at the ticket desk: the cable car ticket (one way to the Jakobshorn summit) is not included in the flight price. In winter, your ski pass simply covers it, and in summer, the Davos Klosters guest card gets you a significant discount on the ride up.
