What clothing is necessary for a paragliding tandem flight?
During the tandem flight, you are directly exposed to the wind. We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing such as long pants, a windproof jacket, fleece, and sunglasses or ski goggles. For takeoff and landing, sturdy footwear is essential, such as hiking boots or stable ankle-high running shoes. In winter, you can easily take off wearing ski or snowboard boots.
We will provide a suitable helmet, but you are welcome to bring your own ski helmet. Please do not bring backpacks, as they are difficult to stow in our back compartment.
Can I borrow clothes and shoes?
Yes, you can visit our shop before the flight and borrow clothing and shoes at no additional cost. We have a wide range of suitable flight attire available.
Can I safely store luggage and valuables?
You are welcome to safely and free of charge store your luggage in our shop for the duration of your flight experience. Our shop is located close to the “Davos Platz” train station, the cable car, and the landing site. From there, you have excellent access to public transportation.
What happens to my booking if there is bad weather on the day of the flight?
In case of bad weather on the day of the flight, we will try in advance to find a suitable replacement date together with you. If this is not possible for you in terms of time, you can easily cancel the flight. There are no costs for you for rescheduling the flight or for the cancellation.
Will I be brought back to the meeting point?
Our landing sites in Davos and Klosters are located near the meeting point and can be easily reached on foot. Typically, we walk together from the landing site back to the original meeting point.
General Questions
How safe is a paragliding flight?
Paragliding is very safe when conducted by experienced pilots who know the flight area very well. If the current weather is also taken into account in the flight decision, nothing stands in the way of a very safe paragliding flight.
The equipment is subject to strict safety standards. Manufacturers must have their products certified to ensure they meet the requirements. We fly exclusively with current equipment from well-known manufacturers.
In Switzerland, paragliding is not considered a risk sport.
Is there a weight limit for paragliding?
Yes, there is a weight limit. Our paragliders are approved for a specific minimum and maximum total weight (weight of pilot + passenger + complete equipment). However, by combining light pilot / heavy passenger or vice versa and by choosing different paragliders, we have a lot of leeway. For us, there is practically no lower weight limit. Very light passengers / children can easily fly with us. If you have a body weight of over 115 kg, we ask for prior contact so that we can plan the flight accordingly.
What physical requirements (fitness) are there for paragliding?
Paragliding requires an average level of physical fitness from the passenger. In case you are not good on foot, there is still a possibility to take off under favorable conditions. However, perfect wind and takeoff conditions are necessary for this. If you have any doubts about your fitness level for the flight, definitely get in touch with us in advance. We can discuss everything and plan the flight accordingly.
Are prior knowledge or skills necessary?
No special prior knowledge is required. Paragliding is one of the simplest forms of aviation, and you will be flying with very experienced pilots who can accurately assess flight conditions.
Are there age restrictions for paragliding?
There are no age restrictions for tandem flying. However, passengers under the age of 18 require parental consent. Our tandem pilots have flown with their own children at an age of under 2 years. For commercial flights, we consider a minimum age of 5 to 6 years to be appropriate.

The Air-Davos Paragliding team includes professional flight instructors, pilots with over 30 years of flight experience, mountain guides, and a former winner of the Swiss Cross-Country Flying Contest. For our pilots, quality clearly takes precedence over quantity.
Renowned Thermal and Soaring Hotspot
Thanks to its geographic features and altitude, Davos boasts exceptional thermal conditions year-round, enabling long and high flights that enhance the paragliding experience. In summer, the laminar valley wind provides excellent soaring conditions.
Year-Round Flight Experience
While paragliding in many regions is limited to certain seasons, we fly in Davos year-round. In autumn, we take off above the inversion layer, and in winter, we soar above the high fog. When the lowlands are shrouded in fog, Davos offers perfect flight conditions.
Excellent Infrastructure
Cable cars conveniently take us to our takeoff sites. In winter, we launch directly from the ski area. The landing sites are located close to the cable car stations.
Easy Accessibility
Davos is strategically located with a well-maintained road network. Even in winter months, roads are generally passable thanks to regular clearing and gritting services. Additionally, Davos has a direct rail connection via the Rhaetian Railway. The Platz train station is centrally located, near our shop and the Jakobshorn valley station.
Wide Range of Accommodation
Davos offers a wide variety of accommodations to suit all budgets and preferences, including luxury and mid-range hotels, guesthouses, inns, holiday apartments, youth hostels, and campsites. We are happy to assist you in finding suitable lodging.
What weather is best suited for paragliding?
Ideal conditions for paragliding typically involve light to moderate wind speeds or no wind (approximately 0-25 km/h), clear visibility, and stable air masses. Thermal or dynamic updrafts can also be utilized to gain altitude. In case of poor visibility, precipitation, strong winds, or approaching thunderstorms, we usually refrain from flying. Certain conditions, such as foehn winds, require caution even in otherwise good weather, as unpredictable winds can occur.
We carefully review weather forecasts multiple times a day and, residing in Davos, possess extensive experience in assessing and predicting local weather conditions.
Can I fly even if I have a strong fear of heights?
Yes, a tandem paragliding flight is possible even if you have a fear of heights. Many people with a fear of heights report that tandem flying feels different from standing on a tall tower or building.
The gentle floating in the air and the lack of a solid reference point beneath your feet often mean that the fear of heights is hardly noticeable during paragliding.
How much does a paragliding flight cost?
Our most popular paragliding flight is the Panorama Flight, priced at CHF 170. This offer is perfect for enjoying breathtaking views and the unparalleled sensation of flying. Videos and photos are included in the price for all our flights!
