Fluggebiete Davos Klosters

Flight area Jakobshorn

In the wind-protected flying arena on the Jakobshorn in Davos, flying is possible all year round. With its take-off possibilities in almost all directions, the Jakobshorn is the main flying mountain in Davos. The two sections of the Jakobshorn cable car provide easy access to the summit and from there to the launch sites.

Startplatz Gipfel

The start is directly below the summit, at the angel of peace by the Davos sculptor Andreas Hofer. The start in northern direction is reserved for experienced pilots. Starting direction: SSW-W, N Altitude: 2’530 m.a.s.l. GPS: 46°46’22.43 “N, 9°50’45.92 “E Difficulty: Easy (SW) – Moderate (N, W)

Startplatz Jatzhütte

Especially in the winter, people often start from the Jatzhütte. From the Jakobshorn summit, the Jatzhütte can be reached in about 10 minutes. The (SW-W) launch site directly in front of the hut is quite steep, so that one can get away well even with zero wind in winter. The take-off place (S) behind the hut is very flat. In case of zero wind a fast sprint is necessary here. If you can’t get out at the Jatzhütte you can walk towards Chalet Güggel and take the Güggelbahn back to the summit. Start direction: SW, W, SO, O Altitude: 2’502 m.a.s.l. GPS: 46°45’58.80 “N, 9°51’2.98 “E Difficulty: Simple

Startplatz Brämabüel

Easy takeoff to the north. In summer you start directly into the upwind band of the reliable valley wind. You can also start in a westerly direction. Start direction: N, W Altitude: 2’475 m.a.s.l. GPS: 46°46’51.23 “N, 9°50’56.55 “E Difficulty: Easy (N) – Moderate (W)

Startplatz Rot-Wiess

Sehr einfacher, flacher Startplatz Richtung Nord.

The winter landing site is located just behind the Carjöl chairlift next to the cross-country skiing track. Altitude: 1’535 m.a.s.l. GPS: 46°47’14.14 “N, 9°49’5.23 “E

Sommer-Landeplatz Bolgen

The summer landing site is located on the large meadow in front of the restaurant Borgen Plaza. Altitude: 1’535 m.a.s.l. GPS: 46°47’22.68″N, 9°49’18.57″E

Other flight options in Davos

Startplatz Strelapass

Schatzalp

Parsenn

Since the closure of the landing site on Lake Davos during the vegetation season, Davos Parsenn can unfortunately no longer be used as a training flying site in summer.

Flying site Klosters

Startplatz Gotschna Nord

Located only about 150 meters from the mountain station of the Gotschna cable car. In summer blows usually a reliable valley wind from the Prättigau valley. Then you can start directly into the upwind band from here. In winter you can start on a flat plateau. Toplandings are also possible by experienced pilots. There is a weather station at the launch site which can be accessed via the following link: https://holfuy.com/de/data/376 Start direction: N Altitude: 2’275 m.a.s.l.
