Half a day in the sky above Davos: paragliding without watching the clock

The Half Day by Air-Davos Paragliding costs CHF 340 and launches from the Jakobshorn above Davos or the Gotschna in Klosters, in summer and winter. Depending on conditions, you fly one extra-long tandem flight or take off twice with around 1,000 vertical metres each time; your pilot picks whichever option gives you the most flying. High-quality photos and your edited flight video are included.

Price CHF 340 Airtime one long flight or two take-offs Season all year

With the Half Day, the sky above Davos and Klosters is yours for half a day. Your pilot reads the wind and thermals and decides on the spot what gives you more: one extra-long flight or two take-offs. Either way you get the best the day has to offer, and no experience is needed.

One extra-long flight or two take-offs: your pilot picks the day's maximum

The Half Day is for everyone who lands and immediately wants to go back up. If the day brings good thermals, we stay up: one extra-long flight with plenty of airtime above the Grisons Alps. If the air carries less, we ride the cable car up twice and take off twice, each time with around 1,000 vertical metres beneath your feet. You never have to choose in advance: your pilot reads the conditions on the spot and always picks the option with the most flying in it.

That puts the Half Day right between the Thermal Flight (CHF 270) and the All Day (CHF 680): more room in the sky than a single flight date, more compact than a full day in the mountains. We fly from the Jakobshorn in Davos or the Gotschna in Klosters, in summer and in winter.

How your half day works: a few quick steps, then the air takes over

We meet at the valley station of the Jakobshorn cable car in Davos Platz (Brämabüelstrasse 11) or at the valley station of the Gotschna cable car in Klosters (Gotschnastrasse 19). The cable car lifts us around 1,000 metres up the mountain; the only thing not included is the cable car ticket, which you buy at the counter. Up top, after a briefing, a few quick steps are all it takes, then the air carries you and the whole valley opens up below. You don't need to know a thing: you fly with a FOCA-certified pilot, and your only job is to run a few steps and enjoy.

For comparison: a single tandem flight takes about 2 hours from meeting to landing. On the Half Day you get far more time in the mountains, with no need to watch the clock. We capture the best moments in high-quality photos and an edited video with music, both free: that same evening, when you open your Dropbox link, you get to fly it all over again.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, rescheduling is free

Let's be honest: flying depends on the weather, and half a day in the sky needs the right conditions. That's why we check the forecast a few days before your date and get in touch to discuss what's possible. If the weather isn't right, we reschedule or cancel free of charge; there's no risk to you. If you're on holiday in Davos, it's worth planning 2–3 buffer days.

Frequently asked questions

Do we fly one extra-long flight on the Half Day in Davos, or take off twice?

Your pilot decides on the day based on wind and thermals, always in favour of more flying: with good thermals we fly one extra-long flight; otherwise we ride the cable car up twice and take off twice, each time with around 1,000 vertical metres. You don't have to commit in advance; either way you get the best the day has to offer.

How much time should I plan for the Half Day of paragliding?

Plan on half a day in the mountains, well beyond the roughly 2 hours a single tandem flight takes from meeting to landing. Whether morning or afternoon works better is something we agree on together when we set your date, based on wind and thermals.

Who is the Half Day of paragliding for?

For everyone who finds a single tandem flight over too soon. You don't need any experience; many of our guests are flying for the very first time, and average fitness for a few quick steps at take-off is enough. If you weigh more than 115 kg, please get in touch beforehand so we can check together what's possible.

What costs extra on top of the CHF 340 Half Day price?

Only the cable car ticket, which you buy directly at the counter. In winter your ski pass is valid, and in summer the Davos Klosters guest card gets you a discount. Everything else is part of the CHF 340, including your photos and your edited video with music.

What happens if the weather isn't right on my Half Day date?

We check the forecast a few days before your date and get in touch. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we reschedule or cancel your Half Day free of charge; there's no risk to you. If you're on holiday in Davos, planning 2–3 buffer days is a good idea.
