Tandem flight
Early Bird: tandem paragliding over Davos in the calmest air of the day
The Early Bird by Air-Davos Paragliding is an early-morning tandem paragliding flight for CHF 190, launching from the Jakobshorn above Davos, Switzerland, or from Klosters on request. You glide around 1,000 vertical metres down to the valley in especially calm morning air; pure flying time is 15–35 minutes, and photos plus an edited video with music are included for free.
Early in the morning the air over Davos is at its calmest, the cable car still empty, the peaks catching first light. That is when your Early Bird takes off: a tandem flight covering around 1,000 vertical metres for CHF 190, with your photos and video thrown in. Perfect if you like it gentle and want the whole holiday day still ahead of you afterwards. Just pick your preferred date and we take care of the rest.
The calmest air of the day
In the early morning the mountains show their gentlest side: the air is especially calm and stable, and below you Davos is only just waking up. That is exactly the mood the Early Bird is made for, a tandem flight with around 1,000 vertical metres of smooth gliding.
Pure flying time is 15–35 minutes, depending on conditions. And the best side effect: while others are still at breakfast, you have already had your flight, and the whole day is still yours.
How easy your Early Bird is
We meet in the early morning at the Jakobshorn valley station in Davos Platz (Brämabüelstrasse 11), at 8:15 am in summer and 8:00 am in winter; we confirm the exact time when you book. The cable car lifts us around 1,000 metres, and you buy your lift ticket right at the counter. Up top there is a briefing, then a few quick steps, and the morning air carries you out over the valley.
Plan 1.5 to 2 hours for the whole experience. You pay after the flight, by cash, TWINT or card. And the same evening, your photos and your edited flight video with music land on your phone via Dropbox link: your morning flight, ready to share before the day is over.
Summer and winter, with a fair weather rule
The Early Bird runs all year round. In winter we usually launch from the Jatzhütte on the Jakobshorn; normal ski clothing with gloves is perfect, and your ski pass covers the cable car. If you prefer, we can also start in Klosters instead of Davos, meeting at the Gotschna valley station (Gotschnastrasse 19).
Flying depends on the weather, and we are upfront about that: we check the conditions a few days before your date and get in touch. If the morning does not work out, we postpone or cancel free of charge. And if you would rather give the Early Bird as a gift: our vouchers are valid for 2 years, transferable, and the lucky recipient picks their own date.
